Ignite3
Learning continues all summer long in Pembina Trails. For the past five years, our Board has made it a priority to support literacy and numeracy during July and August.
Ignite3 is a division grown summer enrichment program. Prairie Sunrise, General Byng, Westgrove, and Chancellor Schools proudly host the free full-day learning camps.
“Every student needs enrichment and academic activities to maintain their learning,” shared Ignite3 program coordinator, Shannon Shields. “So many kids and families are doing their best, but we know days can get filled with video games. Ignite3 really makes an impact on student learning, as students get an opportunity to have fun while maintaining academic gains in the summer.”
More than 200 students, including many newcomers, get the chance to strengthen their math, reading and writing skills. Afternoons are spent enjoying outings including trips to local farms, libraries and splash pads. Getting out and exploring the community is always a group highlight.
