Physical Education
Physical Education is an essential part of the total educational process. Movement experiences have a great influence on the total development of the child: physical, intellectual, social and emotional. Physical Education provides experiences to learn motor skills, to learn to be comfortable in one’s physical space and to fulfill the child’s fundamental need to move. The Physical Education program is committed to providing quality daily physical opportunities for all students to develop the skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to participate in an active and healthy lifestyle. Dalhousie School has earned the Quality Daily Physical Education award for the past twenty years.
Physical Education time is allocated as follows:
Grades K – 6: 5 x 30 minute periods per 6 day cycle
To help supplement the physical education program students have the opportunity to use the bouldering wall to help develop muscular strength and coordination.
