Student Services

At Pacific Junction School, we believe that the student, the parents/guardians and the classroom teacher are at the centre of a child's learning. Our Student Support Service teams are extended circles of support so that all students reach their academic potential in a safe, caring and engaging environment. They collaborate with classroom teachers to provide programming that meets the academic, social, and emotional needs of all of our students.
Our In-School Team
On our Pacific Junction staff, we have a blended Resources, Inquiry, and Literacy Support Teacher role. This teacher works closely with classroom teachers and the principal to support student learning and diverse needs across the school. Support may be provided through one-on-one, small-group, or whole-class instruction. In addition, the teacher supports inquiry-based learning and provides targeted literacy intervention for selected Early Years students who require reading support.
Our Divisional Team
Our in-school team works closely with divisional professionals to support our students and their families. We may access the services of a school psychologist, speech and language therapist, social worker, occupational therapist, physiotherapist and a behaviour and learning support teacher. These professionals may be used for consultation or direct services as determined by the in-school and divisional student support team.
