We love Forest School

Laidlaw School has devoted itself to getting our students outdoors, exploring nature, and environmental inquiry. We are so fortunate to be walking distance to Assiniboine Forest and of course our neighborhood park on Park Avenue (affectionately known as "Park Park"). These spaces help our students to dive into environmental inquiry and purposeful play opportunities. Our Forest School experiences are carved out of an afternoon with different classes learning and playing outdoors on different days. We began our learning with the Momenta Organization and with the help of a grant, many of our teachers were involved in explicit professional development towards becoming Forest School trained.
