Royal School honours its shared history with Chapman School

Royal School has a long and storied history with Chapman School.
Chapman School remained open until 2016, when the last remaining students amalgamated with Royal School. The last principal of Chapman was Lorraine Barton. The last administrative assistant was Sandy Comberbach (who is currently the administrative assistant for Royal School).
Using the last of its funds from the Chapman Endowment Fund, Royal honoured that special relationship by purchasing a park bench for the playground in honour of George T. Chapman.
The bench has a memorial plaque which reads: This bench is donated in memory of George T. Chapman QC and Chapman School.
The Chapman Endowment had been established in the late 1980s in memory of George T. Chapman QC by his wife, to support scholars from Chapman School in the form of scholarships awarded to further their education.
